About Chris
Chris Mitchell is the Middle East Bureau Chief for CBN News, based in Jerusalem. He established the bureau in August 2000 and has spent the past quarter-century reporting on the region’s most pivotal stories. His coverage has spanned the Second Intifada, the Arab Spring, the rise of ISIS, and the October 7 attacks and their aftermath. He has filed reports from Cairo’s Tahrir Square, refugee camps in Iraq, and the ruins of Turkey’s devastating 2023 earthquake.
Chris has interviewed Christians who fled the scourge of ISIS, newsmakers shaping the modern Middle East, and Jewish people returning to Israel in fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
He is the host and executive producer of Jerusalem Dateline, CBN News’ weekly program from Jerusalem, which received the National Religious Broadcasters’ award for Most Creative Programming in 2015.
He is also the author of Dateline Jerusalem: An Eyewitness Account of Prophecies Unfolding in the Middle East and Destination Jerusalem: ISIS, “Convert or Die,” Christian Persecution, and Preparing for the Days Ahead. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Chris earned his M.A. in Communication from Regent University. Marking twenty-five years with CBN News, his mission is to provide viewers with “understanding of the times” (1 Chronicles 12:32), helping them see today’s headlines through the lens of Scripture.
